Alle fugler

Barnesangen “Alle fugler” er en snodig sang.
Se bare her:

Men!! Litt kjedelig igrunn. Det finnes vissnok flere varianter, i flere farger.

Lerker jubler høyt i sky,

Aldri…

RSS-Reader

I’ve been on the lookout for some good RSS-Readers lately, and I’m now testing out RSS Bandit. It’s OpenSource, and can be downloaded from the website.
So, why do I like this one, compared to others?
- First of all, it’s easy to install, and easy to get up-and-running.
- It has a good GUI / interface, and it’s easy to get an overview
- It supports remote storage.

It’s the last thing that makes this one better than others. I use RSS at my work too, and don’t you just hate it, when all the entries are both at home and work, and you have actually read some of them. Sharing the same file is something I find valueable, and RSS Bandit offer this.

On one of my domains at Dreamhost, I can use WebDav, and RSS Bandit has support for WebDav.
So basically, what I’ve done is:
- Download and install RSS-Bandit
- Log on to Bloglines.com and export my feeds to an opml-file.
- Import the opml-file into RSS Bandit
- Read RSS-entries during my time at the PC
- Export the RSS’s to my WebDav at my domain.
- Quit RSS Bandit.

Then, when I log in at work, I start up RSS Bandit, and download my feeds from WebDav, and then I have the same listings as at home, and can update the RSS-feeds.

This is quite neat, and I don’t know of other RSS-Readers with the same possibilities.

So, what I’m saying is: check it out ;)

US Police going nuts

US Police going nuts

BBC wrote yesterday about some quite interesting. US police handcuffed a five year old girl.
My first reaction was “WTF??, They handcuffed a kid??”, and after some seconds I though this is probably just some “Homeland security”.
Who is stupid enough to handcuff a 5 year old girl? The incident is under investigation, but I’m sure this happens other places in USA too. Something is totally wrong with that country, and most disturbing: most of the americans seem to not care. If they cared, they would not have Bush as president.

It’s just sick!

CatholicInsider.com – from Rome

CatholicInsider.com – from Rome

I listen to podcasts every day. If you don’t know what a podcast is, come back within few days to read a upcoming post by me on the issue.

For those that know about podcasting, CatholicInsider.com have published several podcasts during the last weekend, and the death of the Pope.
When father Roderick heard that the Pope was very ill, he flew to Rome, and in his Extra podcasts, he takes us with him around in Rome. We hear the prayer from the people on St. Peter’s Square, father Roderick shares personal views and thoughts, and on saturday evening, we get a incredible report only minutes after the Pope died.
Listening to these podcasts give me a special feeling of being there, with all the sounds, people and describtions shared.

So if you want to get close to this very special news, listen to what happened and how it was on St. Peter’s Square, download some of the podcasts. I suggest you listen to them in correct order, starting with “Catholic Insider April 1, 2005 – Extra Edition”

Controlling bloggers

Controlling bloggers

IT-avisen.no (norwegian online-news) reports that politicians in San-Fransisco will vote for a suggestion to control bloggers.
If you have more than 500 hits, or over 1000 USD in turnover, you have to report to the “Ethics Commission”.

I’m rather surprised about this, but again, it’s USA… the land of the “free”.
I guess some people are afraid of the power of blogging and bloggers, remembering bloggers vs Dan Rather (link to .no-newspaper).
