EliteTorrents.org – shut down by FBI and Microsoft Word
Media (among them, the norwegian paper VG) reports today that www.elitetorrents.org has been shut down by FBI.
So I decided to go and have a look at the page.
FBI has been there, no doubt about that. A big red page, with FBI-logo and (!!!!) the logo of “Homeland Security”. I don’t understand how EliteTorrents are a risk to Homeland Security, but anything is obvious possible in USA now.
If you look at the sourcecode, it’s a framed site, and the real page is located at http://192.31.21.68/
And even more interesting, if you view source on that server, FBI have used MS Word to make that page. How impressive is that???
I’m speechless, and it’s beyond belief that FBI is so up-to-date that they manage to make a website with Word.
Well well, someone should report the responsible FBI-agent to this “Homeland Security”, couse when they make websites with Word… security is definatly taken care of.
What a country!
Controlling bloggers
Controlling bloggers
IT-avisen.no (norwegian online-news) reports that politicians in San-Fransisco will vote for a suggestion to control bloggers.
If you have more than 500 hits, or over 1000 USD in turnover, you have to report to the “Ethics Commission”.
I’m rather surprised about this, but again, it’s USA… the land of the “free”.
I guess some people are afraid of the power of blogging and bloggers, remembering bloggers vs Dan Rather (link to .no-newspaper).
Get MSN-smileys on WP
I subscribe to the WordPress-RSS from del.icio.us to keep me updated on new WordPress-stuff.
And today, someone posted this neat plugin at Priyadi’s Place. It’s a plugin that let you convert your
‘s and
‘s to MSN-smileys. It actually also include Yahoo’s, but hey.. do you actually still use Yahoo? ^o)
Anyway, this plugin is sweet like candy, and just another brilliant plugin for WP. Got to love it, right?

After checking Eiriks post on Random Images, I know I also needed this. Copycat deLuxe, right?
Well, gmhowell published this neat tool, and I appreciate it a lot. The default WP-theme is great (after a few adjustments), and with this plugin, I get the look and feel that I want.
Great plugin!
I’ve also added a “dropdown-categories”-plugin, found on Typedby.com.
It’s quite good, although the docs lack more examples so I can use it on more of my menu. Pages, archives and links would be handy. Hopefully, the author will provide examples
