In Lusaka, staying with friends, life unfolded slowly and fully. Long evenings, music playing somewhere in the background, conversations that drifted into the night. It wasn’t a trip, it was a feeling one that stayed long after I left. 

As always, the collection began with sound. I discovered Zamrock  a raw, rebellious blend of 60s and 70s rock shaped by a moment of cultural freedom. It’s unpolished, electric, full of energy. I couldn’t stop listening. In the car, at home, on the flight back. 

And then she appeared. 

A woman at the centre of it all. Effortless, self-assured, slightly wild. The kind of presence you feel before you see. The Shebeen Queen became the spirit of the collection. 

From there, the pieces fell into place. Tailoring with attitude. High-waisted flares that move when you walk. Colours drawn from sun-warmed earth, deep stone, fading light. Prints that carry the energy of water in motion. 

Vinyl Nights is released like an album.
