Vinyl Nights Track 2

Africa in the 70s a continent mid-stride, electric with its own becoming. Lagos, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam. Cities that had something to say and the music to say it.

The Shebeen Queen is still here. But now she's moving.

The heat has changed her. Silk that clings in the right places, cut to move with the body rather than contain it. Golden brocade that catches light the way the sun does at six in the evening — warm, unhurried, impossible to look away from. Cotton tweeds that have no business being this sensual, and yet.

This is what the 70s knew that we've forgotten. That summer wasn't soft, it was loud. That fabric could carry culture without explanation. That a woman could walk into a room and the room could feel it before she said a word.

Vinyl Nights keeps playing.

This is Track Two.
